The URA team camped in Nakaseke District, offering tax-related services at the Namunkekera-Liao Shen Industrial Trade Show and Bazaar in Kapeeka. This inaugural event united 21 industries from the Namunkekera Industrial Park showcasing their products. This event aimed aimed to create a conducive business environment, promote compliance, and support the development of industries that include textiles, pharmaceuticals, agro-processing, and electricals.
Former State Minister for Tourism, Kiwanda Suubi, praised URA’s Tujenge Mobile Office, calling it a “game-changer” for reaching taxpayers in underserved areas.
URA Tax Expert Hafsah Seguya advised participants to register their businesses and obtain a Tax Identification Number (TIN).
“If you earn income, register your business with Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) and apply for a TIN to interact with URA,” she emphasized.
At the Tujenge Bus, taxpayers received TIN registration, guidance on tax compliance and brochures on business growth incentives.
