Busitema intercepts 8 tons of wheat flour and Soap

With the guidance of the Regional Intelligence Liason Offices in the Eastern region, the Busitema enforcement team impounded a truck registration number UBP 736H with smuggled wheat flour concealed tucked in maize sacks.

The smuggler of these items according Moses Cherukut, a customs officer in Busitema is a habitual smuggler who had always been trailed in vain.

However, on Wednesday his struck was successfully intercepted in Serere district.

“The driver jumped out of the vehicle and flew to the nearby building but later on returned after being convinced of the safety of the goods and the truck,” Cherukut narrated what happened during the interception

The truck is currently in Busitema pending further interrogation. For now, the following items have been discovered in the truck; 110 cartons of Pembe wheatflour,130 cartons of dunia wheat flour and 186 cartons of kibuyu soap.
