NMS has benchmarked on ICT Systems at URA

 By Josephine Nandutu

A team from National Medical Stores (NMS) recently visited URA to benchmark the ICT system for business intelligence and analytics.

During the visit, Allen Nassanga, URA’s Assistant Commissioner for Research and Innovation said that the agency is minimizing human interface by automating procedures through system integration.

According to Stephen Kisuze, the Head of delegation from the NMS team noted that NMS is ready to enter the phase of adopting business intelligence and analytics according to the road map. He added that the institution intends to create a data science and analytics role within the organization as part of the NMS Strategic Plan 2021–2026, hence benchmarking with URA to reduce unexpected implementation issues.

URA has established herself as a pioneer in process improvement methods, and several organizations now come to the tax body to benchmark against various systems.
