Jinja enforcement recovers tons of rice and t-shirts

On Saturday at 11:30am, the customs enforcement team in Jinja intercepted a truck registration number UAV 754D loaded with rice.

The team received intelligence reports and quickly deployed through Jinja-Kayunga highway to block the truck from crossing Isimba dam.

“We fully deployed at the extreme end of the bridge and the target had no way out,” Vincent Kiberu a customs officer on duty emphasized.

Meanwhile, when verification was carried out, the following were discovered;

83 bags of 25 kilograms- biryani rice

271dozens of assorted china made T-shirts.

Currently, the truck and the items are at the URA Jinja station for offence management.
