Correspondence by Emmanuel Emasu – Team One Enforcement
At the back-end of January, a motorist who had plied his dirty trade for a while was smoked out by Team One Enforcement, bringing his ‘perfect gimmick’ to an unexpected end.
This Kenyan motorist, had relied on his Mazda Reg No. KDA 214M fitted with a secret floor compartment to move contraband from border to border.
The daredevil had mastered the art of hiding in plain sight to the extent that he would even come into the country on a Temporary Road License (TRL) and move his ‘merchandise’, tucked away in the hidden floor compartment to Kampala. As fate would have it, he was done for by a pin-point intel report that had him driving right into the ready hands of Team One with 35 bags of contraband rice on board.
The car was intercepted in Kampala and it is being held together with the contraband and the offender.
Just two days prior to this capture, Team one had intercepted a Toyota Noah UBJ 593R Toyota with similar contents in Seeta- Mukono filled up to the brim. 161 bags of Hilal and Baraf rice were recovered from this car.
In both cases, offence management ensued immediately.
