Nsambya Babies’ home has witnessed a remarkable success story, thank to URA ‘s donation and its partners. Fifteen children have been reunited with their families and an additional UGX 8 million was donated to the home.
Flavia Nakasozi, an official from the home expresses gratitude while receiving the donation.
“Since the charity walk, we have seen remarkable success stories. We are pleased to announce that 15 children have returned to their homes,” she said.
URA recently organized a walk in conjunction with the Kampala Catholic Archdiocese, where Ugx 97 million was raised to support Nsambya Babies’ Home.
The URA team was led by Bernard Kasoma, the Chairperson Staff Council whoreaffirmed the institution’s commitment to supporting the home.
“We pledge to be partners in this cause for the long term. The work being done here is invaluable, and we recognize the selfless dedication of the caregivers and staff who care for these innocent children,” he said.
Diana Prida Praff, Assistant Commissioner of Litigation at URA, commended the Home’s efforts, calling the work of the caregivers “a testament to selflessness.”
She emphasized the critical role children play in the future of society and praised the initiative to provide them with stable, loving homes. Praff also encouraged continued staff mobilization to ensure that more people can be reached.
Nsambya Babies’ Home currently houses 36 children ranging from 15 days to 6 years old. The establishment supports children by finding them permanent homes through reunification or adoption.
According to the staff, the children’s emotional well-being is central to their mission, and they work tirelessly to ensure every child finds a loving family.
“The children need to feel a sense of belonging, to be loved and cared for,” Nakasozi explained. “It’s not our intention to keep them here long-term. They deserve the opportunity to grow and thrive in families that will nurture and guide them.”
Through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, URA is able to effect social change in the communities in which it operates.
For the last 30 years, URA’s philanthropic contributions have left an indelible mark and created an enjoyable working relationship with its stakeholders. These activities have ranged from environmental protection to providing scholarly materials, hospital equipment, cleaning markets, and donating blood.
