The Catholic Archdiocese of Kampala’s charity walk raised an impressive UGX97 million for Nsambya Babies’ Home. The event, flagged off by His Grace Paul Semogerere and top dignitaries, saw URA staff and management donate UGX10 million and a cow valued at UGX6 million.
With uplifting music from the Uganda Police band, participants jogged from Uganda Railway Corporation grounds to Nsambya Babies’ Home. The URA Commissioner General John R. Musinguzi commended the Archdiocese’s commitment to children’s welfare, emphasizing tax compliance as a key driver for national development.
“As tax collectors, we want to work harder to increase our chances of going to heaven. This is our opportunity to say thank you for paying your taxes,” he said.
Archbishop Semogerere praised URA’s involvement and encouraged ongoing support for the needy, sharing inspiring stories of the home’s impact. This successful event showcased URA’s dedication to supporting vulnerable members and made a tangible difference in young lives.
