URA arrests impostor over fake stamps

A joint operation between URA Busia enforcement team and the police crime intelligence arrested Magombe Luke over allegations of forging stamps of various agencies and forged documents like temporary road user charge forms (F18), DTB bank receipt, C32 and fake stamps.

Magombe was arrested last Friday at a hideout next to Embassy Lounge in Busia Municipality.

According to Moses Mwiine, a customs officer in the region, Magombe had been involved in repeated cases of forgeries of documents.

And like the proverb of a thief has 40 days, Magombe who had been on the run together his associates were eventually caught.

For now, the culprit and his tools of trade including 17 stamps of various agencies like Immigration, Port health, stamps of banks both from Kenya and Uganda have been forwarded to Customs Revenue Intelligence for further management.
