In Ntwetwe town council, Kiboga district, the URA tax education team, alongside the Hoima Domestic Tax Office with support from local leaders, held an informative tax katale, wholesale & retail sector engagement.
In a bid to help people understand how taxes fund socio-economic development, the team explained the importance of taxation for community development. Simultaneously, registration officers visited local shops in the door-to-door engagements guiding people through the process of registering and addressing any related concerns.
With over 250 new taxpayers registered, the initiative was successful. Small business owners, farmers, and local authorities all joined in, realizing the benefits of business formalizing to collective economic growth.
