During the engagement, URA’s Assistant Commissioner for Learning and Development, Irene Irumba Mbabazi, highlighted the organization’s focus areas in developing staff capacity saying URA has transformed from human resources to human capital.
She also commended the UPDF’s role in creating an enabling environment for tax collectors.
“We have traveled a great journey together, your soldiers move alongside our staff during enforcement. And as you guarantee peace, we the tax collectors are fighting hard to guarantee the country’s economic independence,” Irumba said of the synergetic relationship between URA and UPDF
Major Wakowera Noah, the Head of the UPDF delegation commended URA for its exceptional work in collecting revenue and constructing reliable systems. This, he said has positioned URA as a standard for other entities to learn from.
