The business community in Bukomansimbi district has requested for more tax sensitization programs to enable them understand their obligations better.
Speaking at the Tujenge mobile tax drive in Masaka, Chairman Dan Busulwa said more education is needed especially in the area of TIN registration and other URA systems to enhance taxpayer compliance and support local leaders in their mobilisation efforts.
Area councillor Maulencia Birabwa appealed to the residents to work together with URA for the development of Uganda citing Government projects which are funded with revenue.
During the activation, 100s of new taxpayers were onboarded and assessments amounting to UGX 65,000,000 raised.
Ag. Supervisor Tax Education content, Ziadi Kakeeto, commended area residents for the warm reception and encouraged them to embrace voluntary compliance and early return filing.
