The URA customs team in Busia launched week long intelligence-led operations in the suburbs of majanji, Marachi, Arobaine, Sofia and Mawero. These were intended to curb the continuous smuggling in the region.

The vigilance of the team here led to a number of interceptions ranging from garments in bales, Pakistani rice in bags, Pembe wheat flour concealed in metallic suitcases for students.
