A 10-member team from URA has concluded a benchmark interaction with Kenya Revenue Authority in the areas of intelligence, internal audit, alternative dispute resolution and prosecution.
The URA team was led by Commissioner Legal Service& Board Affairs, Patience Rubagumya. Throughout the conversations, it was noted that URA must prioritize frameworks, processes and systems used under the different functions to drive success, revenue mobilization and collections.
Furthermore, the team was tipped on the importance of linkages and synergies between departments in the achievement of the overall objectives of the authority.
Systems reforms and reviews were also highlighted as integral in improving processes and the legal framework especially regarding the functions under review.
Other areas of discussion included; strategic operations, integrity management, complaints and corruption Reporting, competent authority office operations, investigation and enforcement.
